What do you think about username changes on forums? Do you change your username often?

I have really only used Snobothehobo as my username on forums for as long as I can remember. I do sometimes change my username as a joke or for special occasions (Halloween or Christmas, for example), but that's about it. I think that it's quite confusing when people change their usernames too often.

What do you think about username changes on forums? I do agree that when members are constantly changing their username, it does become confusing as to who that member was before the username change. Thank goodness we have a username change request thread here at Off Topix. When I'm not sure about a username change, I can look in that thread.

I am Nebulous everywhere and its been like that for a few years now.

I don't mind if people like to change their names when I am familiar with them and still know who they are, but on forums I'm new on, it can get confusing.

I use a different username on almost every forum. I don't change my name too often though. It's annoying and confusing when there's no "view previous names" option (like on IPB).

If they have to change their name often I prefer they put it in their sig like +prince does. Then it's obviously no problem.

Not really, I have a pretty good memory and I'm never active on more than 2 forums at the same time.

The name I use here is the name I use everywhere. I like to think sticking to one name builds an identity that people could recognize if they bumped into me elsewhere. I also figure it makes it easier for people who I lost track of to find me again if they wanted to.
