A former award-winning Utah state trooper is out of work and facing a major lawsuit.

During her 10 years with the Utah Highway Patrol, Lisa Steed built a reputation as an officer with a knack for nabbing drunken motorists. But she's now facing a lawsuit in which some of those she arrested allege she filed bogus DUI reports.

Steed was taken off road patrol in April 2012 and fired in November. She was accused of violating department policies, falsifying police reports and using questionable practices when making DUI arrests.

Steed declined to comment, but her attorney says she denies the allegations. She is trying to get her job back.

The civil lawsuit includes two defendants, but dozens more are lined up to broaden it into a class action lawsuit.

Wonder if this means everyone she arrested will have their charges dismissed.
