Yes! Teach queer history, teach queer existence! Let them know it's ok to be who you are. Let them know trans people exist and are just as valid as anyone else, no matter what transphobes think, or how dismissive they might be.@PGen98, @WHO IS SERAFIN: isn't it nice to see students standing up for what is right and decent in America?
In a sense, that's what Doc is saying (feel free to correct me there, @DrLeftover). Back when I worked as a butcher, everyone at work knew I was gay and they didn't flat give a fuck - as long as you were able to do the job that's all that mattered.Caring isn't a prerequisite, not being an asshole and not attempting to blink people out of existence is the major ask.
Oh absolutely agreed, just speaking in a more generalized sense. Not caring is fine, it's actually for the best, it's those who actively oppose that need to back off.In a sense, that's what Doc is saying (feel free to correct me there, @DrLeftover). That said, when certain parts of society are trying to push you back into your little cubbyhole, don't be surprised when we push back; we've got as much right to a seat at the table of American equality as anyone else.
I completely 100% agree with you.If they only taught actual history, balance a bank account, actual math, things that make you a person that can survive in real world

The last bit's a dodge to divide Americans, Serafin, but until we all have a shot at the proverbial brass ring of equality you damn well better believe we'll protest, get in people's faces and not step back until we do, so can the faux concern over children.99% don’t care who you sleep with or what you think you are. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone. And all this uproar isn’t about a gay person living there lives, they don’t care how you live your life as long as your lifestyle doesn’t make them change there’s. It’s about fucking with peoples children and expecting me to alter my speech under threat to make you feel better.
Thought so.That is exactly what I meant.
Good for you, Doc; now tell that to all the religious folk out there who seek to use their religious beliefs/liberties to discriminate against the rest of us.And also, I didn't try to push my own behaviors off on them.

Someone's got to stand for the least of us.In this case a segment of the gay community
Thought so.
