Is eating veal worse than eating other meats?

I believe is baby cows who are chained up and not allowed to move so the meat is tender. Dont quote me on that though.

Good question! I'll order it sometimes at restaurants.

I havent decided if its worse than the other meats or other forms of beef though. I suppose most all cows are not treated fairly so if you are going to eat one kind of beef, then you shouldn't have a problem with eating all kinds.

One time I was out with a friend and his girlfriend. She started giving me a hard time for ordering it. She said it was immoral or something.

Calves raised for veal are taken from their mothers immediately after birth and raised so as to deliberately induce borderline anemia. Calves are then denied basic needs, including access to their mother's milk, access to pasture and exercise and often prohibited from any movement at all in order to produce the pale-colored flesh for which veal is coveted.

Calves confined in veal crates, usually measuring 2-feet-wide, cannot turn around, stretch their limbs, or even lie down comfortably. Scientific research indicates that calves confined in crates experience chronic stress and require approximately five times more medication than calves living in more spacious conditions. It is not surprising, then, that veal is among the most likely meat to contain illegal drug residues, which pose a threat to human consumers. Researchers also report that veal calves exhibit abnormal coping behaviors associated with frustration including head tossing and shaking, kicking, scratching, and stereotypical chewing behavior. Confined calves experience leg and joint disorders and an impaired ability to walk.

I never would eat veal and the above is the reason why.

Veal is really nice, I don't have a problem with eating it

Does it really mean anything if the animal is treated fairly or not if at the end of their lives they are going to die and be eaten anyways?

That's exactly what I was thinking as well. IMO I have to say no because it don't matter how you are treated if it gets killed in the end.

I've never had veal, actually.

But if you say it doesn't matter how they are treated because they'll die, think of it this way: You're born, taken away from your Mom and Dad forced to live in a tiny space where you can't turn around in, barely move, only to get slaughtered so other species can eat you. Sound too fun?

They should still be treated decently even if they will die, imo.

I have never eaten Veal and from reading that Jazzy I don't want to.

I only ever eat Free Range meat.
