Veterans Day is upon us .. xox

Remembrance Day in the UK isn't until the 14th (correct me if I'm wrong). We don't get a day of, but I think there's a minute silence for our men and women at war, and whomever fought in wars before the Afghanistan/Iraq war.

That's what I heard too, that you celebrate the holiday on the Sunday after the 11th.

BTW, in our family, we thank the heroes from the UK because the UK is our ally and friend. We thank all of your brave heroes.

Do you have parades or services for them on Sunday? I hope so.

Sometimes we have parade's on Sunday, but most of the time, our troops parade through their home towns when they get back from war. I attended the parade of the 3 rifles.

There's a video of them marching, and pictures of the size of the crowd that turned out: http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/indepth/3rifles/8378978.Town_salutes_3_Rifles_heroes/

I also, think about the American men and women who are fighting/ have fought in war on remembrance day.

I don't think it really matters.
No it doesn't, I just wanted to know something about the history behind it.

Actually, all of them. It began at the ending of WWI and throughout history became a day that we pay tribute to all who have served.
Thank you

Thanks! I loved the video and the pride that was shown. Also, the article below the video was heartwarming. It's good to see all the children learning from a wee age to respect and love those who have served. That was beautiful. Thank you!

You're welcome, Evil Eye.

Dennis, I'm glad you know better. Maybe you can clue that person in.

FINALLY, HAPPY VETERANS DAY to all who have served and are serving. THANK YOU doesn't begin to cover my appreciation, love and loyalty.

I think it's also important to remember those who keep the home fires burning, the families who wait here at home and sacrifice too, unselfishly.

God bless America and those who wear the uniform. xox

This might make things a little depressing. But it is pretty good.

One of the school clubs I'm in put together a Veteran's Day program today during school for the Veterans. We were at the registration table helping some of them sign in and this one guy said something along the lines of Thank you for doing this for us veterans because when I came home, no one did it for me and he started crying and we were all just standing there with tears running down our faces.
