What do you think is missing in the video game industry?

As much as I love games like Uncharted and Bioshock Infinite, you know, those cinematic games, I feel like the industry is missing video games that actually feel like games. Things like the upcoming Sunset Overdrive for example. We still get these games but from smaller companies with limited resources and a lot of the time they get very little attention.

Another thing I desperately want back is online and local Co-Op. It's something that is dying out, year after year we get less and less of them. I miss the days where I could invite a friend over for a marathon of a new game where we literally do nothing but eat Pizza and go through the story mode together.

I understand what you are saying... I would say that one of the best revolution in the video-game industry was the moment where it stopped being a fun pastime and started to redirect itself more toward achieving something of more artistic prowess. I think that's why video-games have grown as much as they have in recent years. They aren't secluded to a certain range of people anymore, they have branched out as an entertainment medium.

I believe that Uncharted and BioShock Infinite are prime-examples of what video-games are capable of achieving. Uncharted had some of the most likable characters that I have ever seen, while at the same time, it had fun and riveting game-play. The only downside that I can see with all three games is that there weren't moments when they simply "let it all hang out," and it acted just as a platformer or just as action.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time had those moments, which is why I like it so much. Something like Uncharted doesn't have that, but I wouldn't say that it is completely gone. Games like Dark Souls, for example, heavily focus on the game-play. I would like to see more of them, certainly.

Although, I think video-games are in their prime at this very moment.

:| what's missing? ...Affordability. Everything video-game-wise is too damn expensive. :banghead:
