I find it shocking that anyone would be in favor of a man hitting a woman no matter what the circumstances. Guess we all don't have the same values and morals.

If that was directed out to me then your saying it is perfectly fine for a women to hit a man?

To brief it up if a woman can hit a man then a man should be able to retaliate if a man was to hit a women then a women should be able to retaliate and they both should face the consequences as human beings.



I do not favour ether sex it is just plain getting treated equally as a man would get penalised for hitting a women when a women hit the man firs,t but if a women hit a man first and the man retaliated the man would get penalised and the women would not.

There was a time that if there was a domestic violence call to a home, the police would arrest the man. period.



It was assumed that the male escalated the disagreement to the physical level, and if he was arrested for spousal battery, he was guilty.



Those laws have, for the most part, changed.



Also. In the Muslim world. It is expected that the man will beat his wife. It is Sharia, get used to it.

I know that, I feel sorry for women that live in those countries. They can be beat and even killed and its perfectly fine. Luckily the women who live in countries like USA can do something about it.

I think if she slapped you then you should slap her back if she was big enough to give it to you then she is big enough to take it. I am not saying you beat the girl i am just saying I do not see why the girl can use violence against a man and that is OK.

I am not the king of guy who goes and lashes out to other people unless i am physically assaulted then I will defend my self to a man or women that is just the way I am.. i am no wife beater if that's what your trying to say Nebulous.

yeah thats true. Its hard to imagine that someone is telling me that I should have punched or slapped my girlfriend. Great advice there.

As you all probably know by now I'm a Paramedic. Last night we were called to a domestic violence call. Police were on scene when we arrived. The woman had a broken jaw and the man had a large slap mark on his face. The man said the woman attacked him and to defend himself he punched her. After checking both victims the police were able to determine that the man slapped himself in the face and blamed the woman. The man is in jail and the woman is in the hospital with her jaw wired shut.



Just thought I would also share the reason behind this domestic call. The man was drunk and wanted to drive to the store to get more beer. The woman hid the truck keys and locked herself in the bathroom. She had her cell phone and called her daughter to come pick her up. The daughter wasn't home and that's when the man kicked in the bathroom door and punched her in the face.

Did i say that? I said if you needed to use self defence if you get punched thrown at you then clearly you would defend your self i did not say you belt her across the face but surely restrain her or give her a slap



hey everyone has opinions .. the only reason i am defensive over your comments Nebulous is because my mother used to hit my dad in the face all the time and my dad did nothing and the police arrested him for physical abuse and my mother was allowed to stay at the house.

Oh we were debating the legality of a man hitting a woman?

Not saying I ever would whether I was female or male, and not saying its ok, but I don't think its alright to have no repercussion for a woman who hits a guy and then have such severe repercussions for a guy who retaliates.

Any violence against any human, regardless of their sex is wrong. Even though the main argument is violence against women don't forget that some women beat up their husbands, not often but it does happen.
