Throw him in prison where he belongs. It's a game, get over it. If you're not mature enough to handle yourself in a game, you don't need to be out in the real world, because no telling what you'll do then.

School board officials say so far, the student athlete has been suspended from school and he could potentially face criminal charges.

No doubt in my mind that he should face criminal charges for this attack. He also needs to be court ordered to take anger management classes.

Lame, I don't see how he could've been on a sports team if he found that an acceptable mode of action. I doubt he'll do any prison time, he hit the guy, and shoved him down, he didn't kill, or seriously hurt the guy. He deserves punishment both by the school and the law, most certainly, though. Probably a fine, community service, and a moderate time of probation in regards to the legal side of things.
