The farmer's market here doesn't look anything like that.
In fact, they have more scented candles, "3 DVDs for $5", electronic cigarettes, "your mom liked this T-shirt last night", and used video games than they do produce. But they still call it a Farmer's Market.

The farmer's market where I live is broken down into two sections. One section is for local produce and the other is the vendor section. The vendor section is used for local artists/crafters to sell their goods.
