It's December now so I thought I'd post a topic about visiting Santa. Of course most of us are way too old to visit Santa now, but if you're a parent who has kids, or if you remember as a kid visiting Santa, what was it like for you or your children?

I believe I visited Santa once at Sam's Club when they had a Santa Clause there. It was really exciting, because I was young and I thought that it was really Santa.

When I was growing up we had huge debates on where the REAL Santa Clause was at, because there were five or six Santa's throughout our town.

My daughter's mom usually does the whole santa thing. We might go see him again because she was too cheap to pay for some pictures.

Aww, that's a shame. Children look forward to having their picture taken with Santa. I hope you're able to take your daughter again and get the pictures.

Every year I take my dogs to have their picture taken with santa. I dress them up in christmas sweaters. The proceeds go to the local animal shelter.

I haven't ever visited Santa.

Every Christmas we used to have a family get-together. One particular year we had my daughter aged 1 year old and my son who was 3 (I dressed her as a little fairy and him as an elf), we had my sisters kids, a boy aged 2 and a girl aged under 1, and my brothers 2 children, a boy aged 7 and a girl aged 5. My other half had bought this terrific santa suit, so whilst the children played happily he went off and got changed into it.

Then he jingled some jinggley bells outside of my mum's lounge to get all the childrens attention and as they all looked at the door, so he walked in, 6 feet tall, bright red suit, curly white beard and a big sack of pressies over his shoulder. The adults laughed in amazed surprise and the kids, with one voice, all burst into noisy floods of tears! (Bar the 7 year old). It was SOOOO funny. We thought the kids would LOVE a visit from Santa and instead they were scared of this big bearded stranger and burst into sobs. Bless! They just didn't recognise him!

None of the children wanted to get a present from him because they were all too scared to go near him.

He had to take off his hat and beard and once they saw it was daddy then they went for hugs and pressies. It was just hilarious. We all expected them to love seeing santa and instead they just all burst into tears at the same moment. It was very funny.

Actually I am going to take her to the mall right now to take pictures.

Back from the mall. The pictures turned out very cute.

You're never too old to visit Santa, I visited him none to long ago, sat on his lap, and after he yelled loudly for some reason, I told him what I wanted for Christmas. He was so thrilled with me that he had some of his top security escort me out of the building, I assume because he knew I was someone of importance to him and that he didn't want me to get caught in the wrong neck of the woods so that I couldn't get my present.
