Do you ever read magazines in waiting rooms or do you bring your own reading materials?

Do you ever notice that whatever they have in waiting rooms is uninteresting and months old?

I would never touch magazines in waiting rooms. Ugh...can you imagine the germs on those magazines? I always bring my own book with me.

I used to print out articles and stories from the Desk website and leave them in various waiting rooms with the note Free. Enjoy! written on them until one old bitch office manager said- (and this is a quote) We don't allow advertising in our waiting area.

On the tables and in racks all around the room were handouts and pamphlets from a dozen different drug companies, an entire library of outdated commercial magazines full of ads, as well as stuff from Planned Parenthood, the Non-smoking people, and so on.

Which I pointed out to her.

That's different, that's for the patients.

I shook my head, picked up my stuff, and quit doing it.

Now I take a book.

That's so true! I usually just take a book with me.
