Also called MSN TV. It was created in the 1990’s. It incorporated Dial up. For those who remember it, do you remember the odd noise it would make as it was trying to connect? I think we got it in 2000. Never been on the worldwide web before so it was very overwhelming. Back then though, there weren’t nearly as many sites as there are now. Dial up service was extremely slow & you had to choose between being on the internet or using the phone!
I remember using MSN Chat & getting into some groups. Was very neat meeting people from all over the world like that. All from the comfort of your couch.
So, who remembers WebTV? What did you think of it?

I watched a YouTube video about WebTV a while back. It seems like such a strange idea today, but it seems like it was pretty widely used back then. I can't imagine having a dedicated machine just to browse the Internet!

I remember webtv! I had some older friends who would use it because it helped them connect online. I thought it was far more difficult for them and some of them were able to learn from me how to do things online without it. It was a neat idea though.

I had to go to the local library 30 minutes away by car to get dial-up in my area for the duration of MSN products. Most things were Live products when dial-up became a local thing, so I would have missed the entire MSN TV thing.
