Off Topix is a well established general discussion forum that originally opened to the public way back in 2009! We provide a laid back atmosphere and our members are down to earth. We have a ton of content and fresh stuff is constantly being added. We cover all sorts of topics, so there's bound to be something inside to pique your interest. This is probably not the advice you're looking for and please don't take this the wrong way as I assure you it's nothing personal against you, but I think it's about time someone gave you an honest opinion, well, at least an opinion as I see it.
In all honesty, I really don't think you're cut out for running your own forums, certainly not at the moment and I really do think you'd be far better off putting your energies into something else. There is an awful lot of hard work involved in running a forum and in your case I can see that it's stressing you out and possibly even making you ill. It really isn't worth it, your health and peace of mind are far more important than any forum.
Perhaps it'd be better to forget about it for the time being and go and do something else. You can always make a new forum in a year or two when you're a little more mature and relaxed about things.
Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the very best, but most of all, I wish you peace of mind and that is something that no one can put a price on.

I should take a break, though(not take down the forum). I still have a game on hold and I should work on my game instead. Maybe if I finish it up and release it to my forum.. maybe people will be interested..
Look around at other forums in your niche. Try to offer what other forums in your niche doesn't. Make your brand unique.

I normally dont say this but I think you should just give up. All I see you doing is complaining about your forum and how disappointed you are with it. So just get rid of this thing that causes you so much frustration.
Do you use twitter? Twitter is one way of promoting your forum.
Do you have Google Analytics account? With Google Analytics you can spot what methods of advertising are yielding the most for you so you know which methods to most heavily focus on and which ones you can do but not heavily rely on those methods.
