What do you hate about winter?

We're deep into winter, and I'm done with it already.
Hurry up, spring.:p
We've had it pretty good right here in this spot; very little snow & no single digit temps YET! But, Jan & Feb are usually the worst of the winter weather......so 'they're' not done with us yet. So, yeah, I'm ready for spring already.
Plenty of snow in the mountains for the skiers & snowboarders, & a good snowfall for the hydro-electric system.

I remember when I used to like winter, but that was many, many years ago when I was a kid, and all winter meant was making snow men, snow forts, and playing in the snow. Now, I am almost 80, and I do NOT like being so cold, I do not like that snow and ice are slick, and I especially do not like how dreary it is here in the winter.
In Idaho and Washington State, we had cold winters and snow, but it was white and kind of pretty.
Here in Alabama, we do not have snow (for which I am thankful), but everything is cold, damp, and just dreary. The grass turns brown, the trees are bare , everything is just ugly, and l look forward to the return of Spring, and the world turning green again.

Where I am, then, winter is not for you; we have very cold temperatures, -50c to -60c.

WOW ! And WOW again ! Where are you at, @Jay™ ?
Oh…I just noticed, that is centigrade, not Fahrenheit, so that is at least some better. You must be somewhere very north though. Canada ?

Winter, like waking up in the morning is something I have learned to appreciate but unlike waking up, I don’t have to love it.

As I wrote in my intro, we live in N. Alabama and winter here is generally a very dreary, mostly cold season without a lot of snow or anything else to inspire the right side of the human brain to wax poetic prose in honor of winter’s existence.
However, in the case of we older gentlemen who might perchance on an occasion to have an enlarged prostate, once one has donned the traditional cold weather gear such as long underwear and heavy clothing and gotten into one’s freezing vehicle, it is a sure thing that the prostate will suddenly shrink leaving one’s next choices in life highly limited.

We've had a warm winter but tomorrow is supposed to be freezing rain and single digit temps. That is no fun at all.

We're in the country so that means we're on our own with the roads. Farmers will usually come out and plow. I'll jump on the side-by-side or four wheeler and hook the plow up to get driveways around the property and neighbors.

But not a lot you can do with freezing rain.

Everything! Winter sucks and offers zero benefits. "Oh yay, it's cold again! I love when it's single digits out! Oh and look, snow! Yay, struggle walking. Oh and there's ice as well, I'll just slip and break my ass. I LOVE WINTER!"
