What factors determine where you eat?

With hundreds of restaurants out there from the big chains to the smaller independent run businesses, what determines you to spend your money there?

Is it the company? atmosphere? service? value for money?



For me it would have to be value for money. Im always looking at saving extra pennies where possible and if the restaurant has a certain offer like buy one get one free or 2 for £10 for example, them offers would more then likely persuade me to go there rather then elsewhere.

I worked with a guy for several years who thought nothing of driving an hour or more, and then waiting in line, to go out to dinner.

For me, if the place is more than ten miles away, it had better be a special occasion or you can count me out.

This! I also like to try new places, so most of that is usually a gamble.

Just depends on what i am in the mood for at that current time. I could drive 45 minutes and go to a nice restaurant or just stay local and eat at applebees or any fast food chain.

Thats an easy way to decide. ^^

- money (if I have got worth time with my finance I must pass eating at restaurants)
- crew and atomsphere (What about the fact that the food will be delicious, as surly staff will no appetite?)
- time (If I have much time and money I like to eat at elegant restaurant, but sometimes I've got no time, so I have to settle only fast food)
