What helps you survive at work?

The people I work with. If everyone was a boring drone it would make the day go by slower.

Well, there are a few things. Some of my co-workers are easy to get along with, Some of the customers that come into the store we pick around a lot. and my favorite one is...

Over the years I learned to treat all the work drama as just white noise. I simply went to work and did my work. And if there was a lot of stupid stuff going on around me, well i didn't have any control over that so i just let it be. Other depts, etc not my business. Not my monkeys not my circus. Show up, do my job well, get paid. The swirling noise around and drama and office politics i just met with a Meh. lol

Just last night I told a friend of mine that I had a BRAND NEW unopened fifth of Wild Turkey 101 and the majority of a 12 pack of Miller High Life bottles......

..... but by the time we got done, and got cleaned up, I was too damned tired to do anything but take a shower and go to bed.

I had to go back down there and mop a floor and vacuum a carpet, so when I got home today I........ took a shower and got ready for bed.

The seal is still intact on that bottle, but one of the Millers went down just fine.

Getting along with my team.

I work in an investigative role. We're collecting evidence and conducting investigations that will go to court and determine if someone goes to prison or not. I need to have my fellow investigators' backs as they need to have mine. We're a big family, pretty much, and we check each other's work to make sure mistakes aren't made that will end up resulting in a case dismissal in court.

If there is no trust where you work, you're working at the wrong place.
