I would have continued both for longer likely, if the emphasis remained on actually learning the spoken language, rather than emphasizing reading them (which they do for later years).
I mean, what does a child learn to do first? Read or speak?
Kahnai said:...and before babies learn actual words they learn tones. Because no matter what language you speak the tone is the same. All voices get lower when they're angry, and higher when excited etc.
Cranos said:Actually that's culturally based, not universal. And they become deaf for the tones that aren't used in their native language(s).
