I'd like to think to myself that everybody has somewhat of an intriguing story to explain what made them get interested in forums. I'm sure that a similar thread has been made regarding this ages ago but I think it's a topic that needs to be rejuvenated and refreshed. How did you suddenly come across forums, what was the attraction? Whenever I was in my late 0's, I had quit Runescape entirely because I wanted to be different and I came across Endless-Online, both these games are massive multi-player online role playing games which similar aspects around them. I joined a guild called, The Thug Life (Late 0's remember that.) and he said that whenever I get the chance I should check out the guild website, it was a Free Webs made website. I asked him ignorantly, Is it free to make those? (late 0's), and he laughed but that was whenever I really started to get the hang of things and whilst my first website was absolutely horrendous, and probably broke a couple thousand copyright laws, that was whenever I began to learn about things. I realized that I needed to advertise and I looked around for websites to help me out when I came across probably my first forum.
Time went by, I ended up sticking with a generic version of phpBB for a couple of months whilst I learned the ropes, then I went to IPBFree, where I stuck around for six months with arguably my most successful forum, then I started using vBulletin, phpBB, IPB, and a bunch of others, but you get the point. The attraction for me was always the idea to share my ideas and opinions with other people, I know that's such a washy answer to give but that's really the reason that I got into the forum biz.
