For me, it's the opening scene. It sets the tone for the rest of the movie.

How about you?
 
That's part of it for me. The opening scene is sometimes memorable. The main thing is a good story, well developed characters, and best of all the actors. If the movie was good. I will sit though the whole thing and it will have an impact on me. Like Terminator 2: Judgment Day, being one of the best films in the world. It left and ever lasting impression.



Really bad acting and terrible story is what deters me from finishing a movie. I won't sit through it because of how bad it is. Then we have the Legend of Hercules which left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

 
It it does not appealing to watch, I will just stop right away and find another one. Usually it does not happen because I have a list of movies to watch.
