What song never fails to make you tear up?

For me it would have to be Who Knew by Pink. The reason this song really pulls my heart strings is that what I was 17 years old my boyfriend died from a brain aneurysm and it was a very sudden and unexpected death. Who Knew by Pink always gets me because it makes me think of the when he passed away and how unready I was for him to die.

Do you have a song that just pulls at your heart strings and make you tear up?

If I'm feeling melancholy Hello by Adele tends to make me a bit teary. It reminds me of a friendship I had that imploded a number of years ago.

Many but the reasons vary. Some for the song's emotional content, some for personal connections.

For instance, "How's the Heart?" by Nightwish gets me going because it ended up as my mental soundtrack to the end of a trilogy of short stories I wrote about a character that I was quite fond of. I ended the series with her finally putting her dark past to rest and discovering that she is pregnant. I loved giving that character a happy ending and the line "And now there's one who came from me; a child of light, another tale" just hit the right note with the pregnancy.

Whereas "Strong", written and sung by the band's current lead singer Floor Jansen when she was in a previous band, is an example of the former. It's about her mother's health struggles. This performance is from a solo concert she recorded in 2021. Yes, she tears up at the end and often does with this one.
