What would you do if your dog or cat had rabies?

Would you take care of it yourself or a pay a vet to put the animal down?

I would be shocked.. she hates the outside world and wants no part of it..

She actually growls when the door is open.. so I'd wonder how she got out and got rabies.. she was a feral kitten though but she was clean and rabies free..

I think that I would pay a vet to put the animal down. Unless there were some kind of time-related emergency involved; in that case I would ask my husband to 'dispatch' the animal ..... although he does have a problem with that idea.
When an animal here has become too old or too sick I much prefer taking it to the vet for "the" injection: not easy, but no violence involved, worth it!

Depending on how bad the rabid animal's condition is, I'd feel safer calling animal control. I don't want to risk getting bit.

my 2 cats never get rabies or anything cause i live in apartment and its always safe from everything
