I live in a town where we have migrant workers from Haiti. They come every year to work in the apple orchards. They work very hard and live in housing provided by the apple orchard owners. They have no transportation so they walk several miles into town to shop and spend their hard earned money.
Today I was in the coffee shop behind several other customers. Two migrant workers were at the counter ordering coffee and buttered rolls (which I clearly could understand). The woman behind the counter kept pretending she didn't understand what they wanted. They kept repeating their order and the woman said really loud: Why the hell can't you speak English and tell me what the hell you want. She then told them to get out of line and yelled next.
What would you have done in this situation as a customer standing in that line? Would you have said something or just ignore it?
