Author's Note: After a talk with Dragon of Darkness awhile back. I got inspired to do a story, and loosely based it off Off Topix and a few of the members. Enjoy!

When Seagulls

and Vultures attack!

It had been about 20 minutes since Lyconus had left Lady Groove’s bar. And while he had had several excellent cups of coffee. He was still slightly perturbed that he couldn’t have any ale. After all, he loved to be drunk before a good battle. Gave him more motivation to get it over with quicker so that he could rest his aching head. He had learned long ago that not even being in Wolf form would heal his hang over. In fact, he actually learned it made it hurt just a bit more. He figured after realizing that trying to get any ale for the night was a bust from Lady Groove. That he would head on back to where the rest of his group of Lycan friends were. Was also even successfully ignoring the looks he was getting for wearing armor that would probably be only seen now a days in Museums or Renaissance Fairs. Damn modern age.. Lyconus grumpily thought to himself.

One of the things Lyconus had admitted to himself. Was that the people of Bower were a great bunch of folks. Even the local Dragon! And most Dragons he knew were usually either trying to kill you or just wanted to be left alone. He had even thought that maybe one day he’d move here. Especially if it meant he got to ride and possibly even race Motorcycles with Spazza. Mental note to self… never tell Lady Groove that I am going into battle and want to get good and drunk. He chuckled to himself over that one.

Although one thing that was a little odd to him, was the Seagull calls he kept hearing. He knew this place was no where near a beach. So how could there possibly be Seagulls here? What was even more disturbing was the Vulture calls he kept hearing too. Privately he had wondered if the Coffee he had been drinking was laced with some kind of drug. As he knew from personal experience that Wolfsbane just made him extremely playful. Which had unfortunately got him into a few situations that he always tried his hardest to forget about. Proceeding to ignore the bird sounds. He went on his walk to the Camp site, not even realizing what was about to happen to him. And had he not been ignoring the people around him, he might have realized that someone was trying to call out to him to avoid the oncoming attack. Which would make him later try to learn how to adopt the method of ‘Selective Hearing’. Which would later unfortunately lead to failure and some mockery from Oriqui.

Crash!

Lyconus suddenly found himself face first in the gravel. And the back of his head throbbing. Struggling to his feet while groaning at the pain in his head. He managed to get to one knee before something else went flying past his head. Only with this he heard his attacker yell out “MINE!”

Grumbling to himself, he quickly stood up and then looked up into the sky and soon regretted that decision. Lyconus’ eyes widened in shock at the sight of so many Vultures and Seagulls in the air. Wondering yet again about just what was in that Coffee he had drank earlier! He took note that a rather menacing looking Vulture was heading in his direction. And not having his sword on him, he realized was a mistake. He quickly made a run for it. Hoping like Hell that the Vulture would not get him. Taking a quick look behind him, his eyes widened again. As the rest of the Seagulls and Vultures were following behind the Menacing Vulture. “What the Hell man!? Bad Day! Bad Day I say!” And for him, being around 400 years of age. Him saying that was one of those rare actual occurrences where it was all so very true.

His run soon took him to a near by lake, and deciding that going for a swim and seeing if he could hold his breath long enough for those Birds from Hell to leave might be a good idea. “BONZAI!!” Lyconus yelled out as he Cannon balled into the lake.

He idly wondered what the Bower people were going to do about this problem. And wondered if it was a first or something that has happened many times. Coming up for air, which was a bit of a struggle for him due to wearing his armor. Made him realize the Birds from Hell were still in the Air. All waiting for a chance to strike at him. Great.. What the Hell can I do now? Lyconus thought glumly to himself.

Spotting a near by forest that looked quite thick. He took in a big gulp of air and dived back under the water. Just as a rather small but determined Seagull made a dive at him. And swam as quickly as he could. But the armor he wore made it rather difficult for him. Only stopping a few times to get more air and to quickly go back under before any of the annoying Birds could attack him. Although unfortunately a Vulture’s talon got him in the back of his head. Making him feel very annoyed and wanting to kill them all. But was unfortunately unable to do so. Finally making it to the other side of the lake where the thick forest was. Standing up as quickly as he could, which was a little difficult due to the armor and his clothes being wet. Lyconus moved as quickly as he could. Hoping to get in as far as possible so that he could wait out the Birds. “I’ll kill ‘em all!” He vowed loudly to himself. Not even realizing he was about to fall into a rather deep ditch.

“Oh Hell!” Came his surprised reaction. And found himself once more, laying face first in the ground. And groaning quite loudly.

He rolled over with a wince. And looked up at the tree branches high above him. “Well.. At least those damned birds can’t get in here…” He muttered to himself as he just laid there.

All in all, his day had gone from something pleasant to something bizarre and wrong. And unfortunately.. His troubles were far from over. But that is a story for another time.

That was very good Sci and I can't wait for more!

Thanks you two! And once I've thought up something for him to run from in the Forest, I'll write it up and post it!
