When you think of stairs do you think of going up or down?

Doesn't it depend on where you are when you think of them.?

If I am on the street then I'd probably think of going up, but if I was at the top of a building then I'd automatically think of going down.

Unless.... I am in London or Paris because then when I think of stairs I automatically think of getting the tube/metro.

I've never put that much thought into it. I guess. Mainly when I see stairs I know to either go up them or down them.

I think I've gone UP more stairs than I have down.

Stairs murdered my family!!!

I grew up with an upstairs & downstairs (basement) so when I think of 'stairs' I actually think of BOTH ways. As kids, we were constantly running up & down them.

Going up, definitely. Although, I've never thought about why... probably because I've never had a basement!

When I think of stairs I think of stairs, rather than of doing anything. The stairs I picture lead up, though, but this is probably because it's a more succinct depiction of stairs than a picture of stairs leading down into the floor.

I think of going up. My hubby would probably think of going down because he's always wanted a basement.

I've never really thought about stairs that way but if I try to think about it properly, I would probably say going up. When I think of stairs, I always imagine a set of stairs from the bottom, looking up I guess
