Which COUNTRY has produced the greatest literature in your opinion?

...Whether it be Rome and Greece with the old classics or Britain with Shakespeare and the Victorian writers.

I think I'll go with the UK here. The list certainly has a few good reasons.
Really though, you can find good literature in just about every country.
