Who inspires you?

My dad inspires me even though he's no longer here beside me. He may not have been rich and famous but he sure was the best dad you could ever want. He taught me at a very young age how to achieve my goals in life. He set the bar very high and so far, I've managed to vault over it. Every time I think I can't do something, I remember what he used to say: People aren't going to hand you things for free. If they did, you wouldn't appreciate them. You appreciate the things in life that you, yourself, spent time, effort and tears to get. He is absolutely right for everything I have, I have because of his inspirational words.
Bottom line is, the only one that can truly inspire me is ME.

Been a year ago to this very day I posted this. The answer will always remain the same.
I admire good things from a lot of people, but I don't look up to anyone.

There are several scholars who inspire me, most of them anthropologists I believe. My ex gf is also a major inspiration for me. She is quite possibly the largest inspiration.
In my most unselfish way, I believe myself inspires me. I believe us as people should follow our footsteps and carve our own way into the life we want. No one else is going to do it for us, so I think we need to be our own role model. People might help me along the way, but generally I will be inspiring myself to get there.
There's a few people that inspire me. One of them is my grandpa. He grew up dirt poor, and still managed to be the first person in my family to graduate high school. He was open minded, even by today's standards, and extremely smart. Not because of his education, but because he wasn't afraid to ask questions and be wrong. He talked to everyone, and people instantly liked him. It was one of the few people who would very literally, and had before, give people the shirt off his back to help them. He remained in a good mood, and nearly always happy throughout his entire, very hard life. He died a few years back, and before he died he asked if the family would be ok without his help. Even dying he cared more about other people.
He taught me to believe in myself. That it was always better to ask questions and look like you didn't know anything, instead of looking smart and being stupid. I followed him around like a lost puppy every chance I had. Every long weekend, holiday, and summer vacation I was doing work with him, and in this time he taught me an immeasurable amount of things. Most importantly, he taught me to help everyone I could, because everyone needs help sometime in their life.
