The round Tiimex I've got tells me the time and the date, which I need to know, and it cost about twenty bucks, on sale.

More than likely, I'd grumble about it for a week or so, and then stop by Kmart or someplace to pick up another on sale.

Like that thing will really last a thousand years... or correct for the change in day length (sometimes influences by earthquakes) over that period.
