There is an enigmatic hashtag - #oomf - that repeatedly trends on social network sites, and in particular Twitter.

It has been more than 150 million times since it first came into use, in the spring of 2010.

But what does it mean? And when do people use it? #BBCtrending investigates.

Have you seen or used this hashtag?

Did you know what this hashtag meant before being told?

It stands for "One of my followers" and yeah I knew what it meant.

Have you ever used it?

I thought it meant "out of my face".

Hah.

That's exactly what I thought it meant too!

I had never heard of it.

Then again, I don't spend time on Twitter. I don't get the use for it other than ego stroking.
