Will cryptocurrencies replace cash?

Maybe far off into the future they might replace cash. They're probably also be traceable at that point too. I don't really understand crypto that well, but I have thought about trying to invest in maybe some doge coin. I'll have to do more research before I dive in, I don't want to waste money after all. 
I've thought about it too. Maybe I'll start with just $50 worth and see where that takes me.Maybe far off into the future they might replace cash.
