How would you react to your boss at the workplace asking you to take a pay cut? Would you consider it something to do or not? Is it enough reason to decide to quit your job?

Well, depends on whether they are asking or telling me. Telling me I would have to take a pay cut, I would give my notice right on the spot. I quit. The pay at my job is already less than what I'm worth so a pay cut for the crap I have to deal with no way. I've been on the end of having to stay with a job because of little other choice and dealing with terrible conditions for the sake of having to earn money and I refuse to do that again. I say F a pay cut.

If I can't support my family on that job, I will look for another job before I quit. Which is what I did with Wal-Mart when they had me down to 5 to 18 hours a week.

If I don't genuinely love that job, then I'm putting my 2 weeks in that day. 🤷‍♀️ I could handle the pay cut only in that case. But also, there is nothing I can see myself doing that would potentially put me on any type of probation so if they tried to pull that, it for sure wouldn't be justifiable and I'd quit. I've had friends experience pay cuts because the company was going through a rough patch, and I'm gonna bet the higher ups weren't suffering with them.

Sometimes this happens when the general economy is down, so getting another job is not easy. In this case if everyone including the bosses are taking pay cuts, I probably would.
If it's just me...I'm gone.

Depends on the reason for the pay cut; the size of the pay cut; and whether the same cut is being given to other employees.

If it's a blanket cut because the company is struggling - then, that's fine. But if I'm being singled out, or it's just an attempt to push up profits... then, no.
