All I can say is RIP off. If Apple release a new OS, then anyone who purchased a mac within the prior 6 months is entitled to a free updrade. All other can upgrade for a mere $29.

Today I ordered the windows 7 ultimate update, cost me quite a bit. I definalty think its a rip off but you cannot get it any other way and it apparently adds value to your pc so if you are going to sell it.

With new technology coming out constantly, your computer can become obsolete very quickly.

With the computer I have, I can't even run Vista. No reason for me to go to Windows 7 or Vista. I have to say XP is the best OS out atm.

Exactly, technology is roughly 6 months- a year ahead of release time. As they release Windows 7, they are working on 8. USB 3.0 has been ready for months now.. etc, etc..



Even when you have a top of the line gadget, reality is it isn't, and Japan probably has sometime twice as good :/

It is really good. No denying that. I just don't feel it's fair to have to pay for a new OS because mine is faulty. Maybe I'll just wait until I get a new laptop in a year.

i'm not worrying about the prices. Microsoft is giving out Windows 7 free for the College of Computer Studies students of De La Salle University Manila, said the Administration of the College. Of course I'll be given one, but i'm not sure if i'll use it or not. My classmates like it, but i'm still not sure if I will. I hated Vista, so I don't know if I'll like Windows 7.
