To be fair, potatoes are versatile as hell and honestly amazing in a lot of dishes. Can't blame people for trying to shove potatoes in a lot of things ?
 
Why that's Indian style food other then Currys the PC store :p

Indian in origin for sure, but consistently shown to be one of the most widely eaten foods in the UK, including restaurants, takeaways, ready meals from supermarkets and people cooking at home.

Then there are dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala, that anybody in India would look at and wonder WTF, but that the British foreign secretary described as "a true British national dish". :D
