Booked my tickets to see this next week. Can't wait!

I've seen it advertised now, so I hope it's good. Let me know how you like it?
Will do! Shouldn't be any issues especially being a musical and Hugh Grant being an Oompa Loompa :D

The fact it's a musical is putting me off a little bit, to be honest.

Will always love the original and the Depp one.

I think this movie is going to flop big time, personally. Maybe I'll see it at some point though.

Just heard the soundtrack. They've got a cool new version of the Pure Imagination song :o

I don't think Timothee Chalamet should have been cast for the role. His performance from what I've seen in the trailer of this movie is horrible. In comparison to Dune when he played Paul Atreides, his performance in that movie was top notch and I thought he was amazing. But with this movie? No. It sounds like he barely rehearsed for it at all. He's just not Willy Wonka.

How does his performance match the character from the actual book?

I really have to agree with you on this!! I wanted to give him a chance, but he just couldn't get the character down, and really, it was as if he was just acting in a school musical.

I finally got to see Wonka tonight (for free on Tubi), and I was hoping for something better. There are some cute parts to it, and if I were a kid, I might have enjoyed it more. Maybe? I am not even sure about that.

The songs were atrocious! If they had spent more time working on the music (it's a musical for God's sake!), it could have been so much better. None of the new songs even stand out enough to want to ever hear them again, that's how bad it was.
