Wood Floors vs. Tiles

When it comes to flooring options for your home, do you lean more towards the classic elegance of wood floors or the versatility and practicality of tiles?

Wood although I don't have it. I have carpet which harbours dust and aggravates my sarcoidosis.

We've got hardwood, tile, some carpet is left here and there, and bare concrete in the basement.

Wood Floors - Can't stand tiles they end up not being correct when laid down on the floor.

My choice is wood.

Tile doesn't do well on a wooden base anyway. The wood underneath often shifts and causes the tile and the grout to crack.

One reason that I prefer wood is because it's softer than tile; if you drop a plate on a wood floor you have half-a-chance of it not breaking.

....another is that it's a little warmer on bare feet than tile.

Wood. I hate, hate, hate carpet. And the tiles I do have just capture dirt and shit in the grooves/crevasses.
