Worst Nightmare

See that's the problem... I haven't a clue what it's about. I don't get it one bit

IDK I forget my dreams almost instantly. In fact, I haven't even dreamed in 2 years...

I've had a lot over the years. One particularly bad one was driving on a road that was filling with water and sinking in the dark water unable to resurface. I think that's why I have an aversion to bridges over water or large bodies of water in general.

Dreamt I was in hell and they were draining my spinal fluid in a huge syringe 💉

I used to have a recurring nightmare that there was a large spider in my immediate vicinity. I'm terrified of spiders and not only would this nightmare wake me up, but I'd usually actually be getting out of bed to run as I woke up. I remember the first time I had this nightmare, I woke up and was already out of my bedroom and in the hall. It's one of those things where I think it's actually real and I'm getting out of there. I haven't had it in years, though.

OMG, some of my worst are my "spider dreams". Blundering into webs or other encounters with the eight-legged ones. In waking life, I am actually quite interested in spiders and fond of some of the smaller species but my arachnophobia still comes through in my dreams.

Worst ever though was like something out of a slasher flick, though. Laying in a bed and this horrible something burst into the room. I woke up on a total panic and took forever to get back to sleep.

This may have been the worst:

November 2020. A short story based on a bad dream, no a really, REALLY, Bad Dream,

WARNING: This Story may disturb more sensitive readers.

Before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, a lot of my nightmares consisted of drowning in an underwater cave or suffocating from climbing a steep mountain. Both were horrifying dreams that resulted in me waking up gasping for air.
