Would you like to be a game designer?

What kinds of games would you design?

:gamer:

I used to be until I found out that lot of has to do with computer science. Math. My biggest weakness in school. Sadly I had to pass on that dream.

I would. I have all kinds of stories locked up in my brain that would make great games or TV series.

I would have loved to be a video game designer but unfortunately, when I was in school and also college, that was not an option as it is now to study and learn.

My eldest and also my 16-year-old son who is due to leave school this year are both doing game design and my brother also did game design as well.

Just to do the actual story. Everything else, probably not. JRPGs, lol.

I wanted to be, but I knew I was never going to be smart enough, so...no.

yes and only PVE games i can design or CO OP. i dislike PVP
I hated PVP when I played Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2. I spent more time dying than I ever did winning. Sure, I took down some players and had a few victories but it was far from being enjoyable. I got more fun out of doing PVE in the game such as getting new mounts, weapons, armor, doing story mode, and taking part in events.

I don't think I could handle that kind of work, but maybe I could do concept art.

Game development has a lot of different parts. I work in the game dev world to a limited degree as a narrative designer (fancy term I learned for I write stories and dialogue, though I also write tutorials and whatnot sometimes) and editor. I intend to work on learning more skills to work on RPGs, Simulation games, and Visual Novels of my own. So far I've just written/helped with some. :)

Never done it, but given my skillset, I'd probably be similar to @Juneberry, more of a narrative designer (nice title).

If I was going to design games, I would probably lean to something more narrative in an RPG. Maybe in the vein of the old Myst or something. Not really interested in combat-heavy games. A strategic builder game like Civilization or SimCity would be another possibility.

I still hate certain branches of math. But I am still into computer science and I like to design maps and artwork.
