I don't want to go to Mars, the earth is beautiful, and we have all the resources and also time to make the earth more beautiful and sustain the human race, there is no need to spend so much money on Mars projects when the large portion of people on earth cannot even afford two courses of a meal.

Earth is overpopulated as it is, and the human population keeps increasing. Humans have demonstrated they have no self-control and don't care about the damage they're doing to do the planet, so once the Earth is fully fucked up, relocation to Mars might become a reality.
