What PC Security Application do you use? Is it free or a paid for one?

I use Avast Internet Security, combined with a mixture of custom firewall things and definitions.

Edit: Avast IS is about $60 USD, but it's worth it, best one I've ever used.

Right now, I have Microsoft Security Essentials working. Am awaiting for a response from BitDefender as to why my Firewall won't enable and Fixes to other problems won't work on my paid for application.

I've tried Malwarebytes and I don't like it. The UI isn't friendly for me.

Yes you're absolutely right, however I'm 19 years old, don't have a credit card and I'm practically broke. Not really the guy you want to be stealing from.

As for my other internet activities, if people want to come looking into my computer be my guest, I really couldn't care less. Security slows down your computer way too much for my liking.

Chances are on his home network or random wireless networks he is at least behind a router firewall. In any case, I'm running Commodo Firewall, best free firewall I've found, and I have Avira (guard not installed, on demand scanner only on my setup) to scan any drives or CDs before I use them on my computer. I don't run any active antivirus because I don't need it, but I will run Eset's online scanner occasionally when I get bored. So far no problems.



Also, Mac come with two firewalls, the first and better of which, ipfw, is disabled by default (on OS X 10.5 and later), and the second of which, a less protective socket filter, is probably protecting your computer.
