What's the worst job you've had?

Out of desperation I took a call center job at Sedgwick, it was... not for me. Thankfully, things in my life got a bit better, so I was able to leave that job.

I worked in an office, entry level job after a career switch.

My boss was a crazy woman, never happy, never satisfied, always changing her mind and blaming everyone else.

One day she called me in her office and she gave me 2 projects, and got mad when I was asked her questions about how she wanted them. At the end of the meeting I asked her "Which one of these 2 you need first?"

Her: Both

I thought she misunderstood my question so I repeated "Which one of these 2 you need first?"

Her: Both

"No, really, which one of these 2 you need first?"

Her, at this point she was yelling: "Both, both, both, both, both...."

A few months later I had enough of her shit, and I went to HR to complain about her treatment of the staff.

Of course she had a friend in the HR department and she got wind of it, she called me in her office and she complained to me about me complaining about her, and she told me: "You don't complain here, you leave."

That was my clue, I called my headhunter and found myself a new better job, with better pay.

Fuck, I had a similar boss in retail. Typically, I'm buddy with most people within a week or two but took me two years. Even then she was bad on her off days.

Data entry for a company that processed credit card applications (before everyone did it online and they filled in paper forms).

It was just a huge never ending pile of forms, and all with the same information to copy and type. Mindnumbing.

I worked for a local print shop and the owner hired me to do customer service. The girl doing the graphics wanted to switch jobs with me since I was a graphic artist and I hated doing customer service but the owner said No to that. His refusal to see that employees should be placed where their skills could benefit the company lost 2 employees since I quit working within 2 months (I think...maybe less) of getting hired.

My current job.

- I get yelled at, cussed at and called names by customers.
- I have to clean the bathrooms. It's bad enough that they berate you but then you have to clean up after them when they trash the bathroom.
- Crappy hours. This meas you get to spend less time with the people you want to spend time with and doing things you want. Plus, you don't get a very good sleep either.

Sounds like my last job, so you must work retail.

Sounds absolutely horrible. Have you been looking for a different job?

You would be correct, sir.

Yes, I have. I've only had 2 interviews. After the first interview, I don't remember hearing back from them. On the second interview, they were willing to hire me but I decided not to take the job after taking a tour of the place. The job was a lot harder than what was described during the interview process.

I've applied other places but I haven't heard back from anyone else.

The worst job I had is a chat moderator. We were been deceived by the company and worked as like a slave.
