How long have you been into forums? Do you remember what year you started out?

I been on primitive message boards back in the early 2000's but I didnt really get into it until about 2007.

The first forum I ever joined was in 2008. It was a site where you could get free samples of all kinds of things. My mailman wanted to kill me with all the samples that I kept getting. Unfortunately, the owner of that site passed away and the site closed down. :(

Aww how sad. Where do you get free stuff now?

I haven't found another good freebie site. :(

My first forum was a Backstreet Boys one run by one of the singers' Dads in 2007-ish. I didn't actually get very interested in forums till 2008 when I joined up with sites like Forum Advertiser and Forum Promotion.

I've often wondered, and I can't really remember what forum started it for me. But I do believe I got into posting bout 3-4 years ago, give or take.

I started in 2008, on a place called the Nexus forums. However, the place has become really hectic in recent years, so I haven't been on in a long time, other than to download mods for video games.

From roughly 2010-now, I hadn't been doing much foruming at all. In the past two months though, it seems I have slowly come back into the forum scene.

:highfive: Just got back from an inactive period myself. A little shorter than that though.

I remember the first forum I joined, but I don't remember the year. '06 or '07 probably.
I joined my second forum on 3 December '07 and some more in '09 I think.
2009 was quite the year for me forum-wise.

First forum I joined was a Formula1-related site called NewsOnF1 back in May 2005, so I'd say about eight years or so

I think the first ever forum I joined was the gamespot forum around 6 years or go. Can't even remember my username!

2001 I think. Shortly after I started secondary school I got into GaiaOnline, and from there other communities.

Nobody else got that song stuck in their head when they saw the title of this thread?

I started a free forum when I was 12, then set up my own phpBB forum when I was about 14 for an online gaming clan. I used to frequent a lot of gaming and graphics design forums until most of them shut down. I then registered to a help & advice forum before that was driven into the ground, and I'm now the proud over of my very own forum.

Unfortunately, administrating a forum is new to me in regards to promotion; having a difficult time getting people to join, which is a shame because I was really hoping for us to become big. Only time will tell!
