What are your reasons why you decided to opt for this diet? Explain each of them.

Also, have you known any people who eats only vegetables?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I have a vegetarian friend. He was raised that way, so it was a family/parental decision and he's been (technically) a vegetarian ever since. He's tried some meats, but he doesn't eat them regularly aside from a bite if he's never tried it before. He says the texture is weird on some of them, like chicken and turkey. He thinks fish is good, though, but that's more because it's a lot healthier of a protein than the others. Still, he sticks to a vegetarian diet for the most part and eats things like eggs and drinks soy milk (if he ever gets any). He'll eat cheeses and butter on some things, so he's not like a hardcore vegetarian/vegan.

I went vegetarian in 1996 and vegan in 2017. I went vegetarian because at the time I worked at an animal sanctuary and couldn't reconcile working for animals with eating them. I became vegan after getting deeper into animal rights issues. I don't like eggs anyway.

We’re there a lot of vegetarians back in the 90s or we’re you a trend setter?

I'm in the same boat; I'm not a vegetarian but, as an overall plan to better improve my health, I've cut back on a lot of meats and begun switching over to a more plant-based diet. I still eat chicken and turkey and fish (especially tuna) but I got no problem eating plant-based sausages, veggie burgers and other vegetarian items.

There were quite a few vegetarians in the 1990s, Neb. It was starting to get a hold.

I’ve tried those, some are actually good! (y)
