yeah, but my point is still valid...
I do not believe it is.
and who are these historians?
Hundreds, probably thousands of them. Washington had several organizing all his journal even before he died.
where are these books and diaries?
I do believe they are kept in Washington. And you can read them all on line if you want to. This place would be a good start.

can the public read the originals?
I imagine unless you are someone who is a noted historian I would say no you can't just go in and start going through the delicate originals.
did they get changed when new versions of them were created?
No.
were the words changed when put on the internet?
Somewhere some place could be unless you are going to a trusted site that has these writings.
who put them on the internet?
Read above.
do you really trust history as history has proven that things get messed up?
I trust the writings of our founders. Since I read many books on this subject yes I do. What I have noticed is just that the writers have slightly different opinions on exactly what might have been his actual thoughts in a letter. And I have read some historians believe Alexander Hamilton got to understand Washington so well during the war that on many occasions under Washington's approval he would write for him.
also, my point is people don't put everything in writing, especially back in the day...
Not everything but pretty darn close.
