I wonder if the girl at the end is his daughter re-generated or perhaps his grand daughter who decided to go on her own to find him.

Series 9 is knocking at the door, and I still haven't seen Series 8, nor the special episodes between them.

Fun fact: Georgia Moffett, the actress who played her, is a daughter of Peter Davison, who played the 5th Doctor. She was married to David Tennant, aka the 10th Doctor. Peter Davison and David Tennant appeared together in a special mini episode called Time Crash.
