Boris Johnson narrowly survives confidence vote - but suffers significant Tory rebellion​

The prime minister is now immune from another leadership challenge for 12 months, but over 140 of his own MPs voting to say they have no confidence in him will severely undermine his leadership.

From being one of our most popular Prime Ministers, because of stories about partying at No.10 Downing St. during lockdowns, Boris is now clinging on by his fingertips.
Personally, despite this, I still like Boris and wonder, if he is forced out, just who would have the clout, the charisma and the authority to replace him.

He should be as good as cooked but given his penchant for surviving in the midst of disaster and for beating abysmal opponents (Jeremy Corbyn, anyone?).....
