You're probably right, but it would be financially demanding compared to my current position.

Yeah super financially demanding here! I am glad I got out of the rent racket and bought a house. The rents insane in my area.
I'd love my own house, I just don't know if I'll ever have enough to buy my own house one day.
Maybe you’ll inherit the one your parents have?
Perhaps, or my siblings will fight me for it.
Depends on if they have their own places or not by then.
My sister already has her own place. My brother I could see maybe living alone with one day, but not sure how he'd feel about that.
Maybe you and him could share the house.
It's a possibility, but it's (hopefully) too far away to tell.
Hopefully. That’s how I got my house, someone passed away. It sucks but some good came from it. I got enough inheritance money to put a hefty down payment on my house. Still have a mortgage payment but it’s way cheaper than renting.
That does give me a little hope for the foreseeable future.
