How often do you reboot your modem?

Hey, I'm not the one operating another man's equipment. :whistles:
Hey, I could be handling both.....

Never -- I own and operate my own equipment.
Can't say I have ever had a reason to restart it, outside of firmware or software upgrades.
Can't stand the junk that many ISPs hand off to their customers.

You had to buy your own modem but you still get internet through an ISP? Or...?

With our current company, we had to buy our own modem. But still get internet through the cable company.

On average maybe every two or three months. But yeah....whenever it gets stuck.

Same here, just whenever it starts acting up, resetting it usually does the trick.

Eh? I didn't know Nebulous is an IT expert. Truly a man of many talents. :whistles:

Of course. If I can run this forum, I can do anything! :superman:

I chose to purchase my own modem, router, and wireless access points.
That way, the only thing in my way is the speed I pay for.

Same here, but they have it set up that way. Either that or you can rent a modem, etc from the cable company. Why pay more per month when those items aren't that expensive to begin with.

Exactly this.
I know so many people who have had an ISP for 4-5 years and have paid $600 for the same old garbage equipment they pay to rent.
Meanwhile, I spent less on custom, top-of-the-line hardware, that will last me longer.

I do atleast once a month depending on situation or problem. Doesnt hurt to have a reset everything once in a while.

Indeed! Mine was $200 years and been working just great for a few years now.
