Have you ever picked up a hitchhiker?
Yes; years ago, I would not these days.
Changing times; too many nutbars, male and female running around causing trouble.
Never picked up a hitchhiker or hitchhiked.
However I have used Uber and Lyft which is basically hitchhiking. You're getting into a complete strangers car who could potentially drive you out into the middle of nowhere and murder you. Same difference, with uber you're just giving them $15 (through an app) to murder you instead of them doing it for free.

Never picked up a hitchhiker because I don't drive but I wouldn't if I did for the same reason as I have never hitchhiked, namely I trust no one.
