Step down from staff?

Ever stepped down from staff? Why?

I have because I’ve been too busy in general …or my forum got too busy and I needed to focus solely on it, there’s only so many hours in the day and some days I only have a very limited amount of time I can devote to forums.

(but also there’s days when I can be on forums all day long, like if I have a day off with no plans and everyone in the house is just hanging out in their own rooms).

I work full time, I have a daughter and a partner who need my attention. My peeps and my job are the priority, being on forums is just a hobby.

I have done it a couple of times in the past due to either getting busy or not seeing the same way as the owner and instead of getting in an argument I asked nicely to step down.

A lot of reasons be it in real life being hectic, work being hectic, and just also taking a step back.

Yep, many times! Things happen, interests change, life gets in the way, there's no harm in it.

Right now, aside from my forums, I'm just staff on Forum Promotion, but I'm the marketing team lead, so that has extra responsibility.

I used to be a team lead on there too but I felt I wasn't contributing enough so I stepped down. This forum is pretty busy and so is my offline life so I felt it was time to step aside and let someone with more free time fill in that gap for me.

I've stepped down from staff on a few forums in the past, usually because I didn't have as much free time to focus on the site. Right now I am staff on Forum Promotion and that's the only forum I'm staff on.

Yep, don't really blame you for it.

Starting to think everyone here is (or has been) staff on FP. :p jk
You're right about that, most of us are 😂.

I have stepped down from a staff position in one forum over my lack of time to do much in it because of my day's work schedule. It got too much for me to combine the two.

I had to ban and fire that member 2 years ago for spewing racist garbage and picking fights with my members.

I once stepped down from the staff position because the owner said he no longer can pay me. I cannot imagine working for free, I need incentives, even a small ones.
If the initial arrangement is for me to get paid, I would never compromise on that. I might lower the fees for you if I understand why it's getting hard for you to pay but cutting it out completely is never going to happen.

I can get that big time. All my forum roles have been volunteer and never paid with IRL money. Sometimes would get forum currency or on occasion gift cards

Same, even when I joined the PTL on FP I never took a dime from it. Forums aren't about money for me.
