The three best drummers to ever walk the earth were Neil Peart, Bill Bruford & Ian Paice and both Bruford & Paice have said straight-up Peart's drum work on "Tom Sawyer" was the best individual drum work of all time.
Can't argue with either part of that. There are some amazing drummers in the metal world, but the technical skill and endurance of guys like Neil Peart will never be matched.
