So yesterday I watched RoboCop (1987) then I watched the new one released in 2014.

The old one is a classic and the new one is an instant classic, I liked it.

Have you seen the new RoboCop movie? Did you like it? Which is your favorite RoboCop movie?

I watched the 1980ish RoboCop recently, and I have to say that I didn't like it nearly as much as I was hoping to. The acting wasn't anything too delectable, and ultimately, they didn't really build any character development. While I know that individuals rant and rave about remakes a lot, I do believe that 2014's RoboCop is the superior movie. Gary Oldman, Nebulousl Kinnaman, and Samuel L. Jackson did very well in their roles, and I think they really were more immersed in their performances than the original actors.

Neither movie is free from fault, however, in-fact, the remake had various problems, while Oldman did well in his role, the transition to him starting to become corrupt for the sake of success wasn't as seamless as it could have been. Also, the fact that 2014's version missed a lot of notes that I believe were hit by the original. I think what I liked about 2014's in the fact that the satire and sarcasm thrown about toward politics was actually funny, whereas the original felt silly. Also, they provided more of a reason as to why RoboCop needed to exist. They said that they needed a man to be inside of the robot to gain the support of voters, whereas with the original, they did it more for shits and giggles than anything else.

The original was deeper in it's presentation of the corporate aspects. The latest is deeper in terms of personalizing RoboCop and his family relationships. I think both are good, but I would not buy a copy of either one.

I like 2014 RoboCop better than the original, although it couldve been a little bit better :)

Quite good remake of robocop

Like most films that trailer I didn't like too much the movie was really not bad.

I even began to use some kind of filter based on trailer opinion. I try to don't watch movies that trailers about them are too good... It is known that in this kind of trailer included almost entire story of the movie :)

The film has made almost 250 million dollars in box-office with a budget of around 130 million. I am hoping that DVD sales will be enough to help warrant a sequel. I'd really like to see them take another step with these characters. I think it could be really cool.

As mentioned elsewhere, I watched this tonight thanks to my local Redbox. Although I find it crazy they'd have that a lot sooner then they would Man of Steel. I thought it was pretty decent, defiinitely something to add to the dvd collection. His family actually knowing what's going on was a nice touch unlike the original.

I loved the first two when I was a kid. I didn't like 3, the tv show, or the remake. To me, Peter Weller will always be Robocop.
I love one and two. Three was....kind of comical with some of the story and acting. I was surprised to find out someone else played Robocop. Kind of want to watch them again.

Peter Weller will always be Robocop.
